Richard Schnap- A Poem

COLD CALLING

I sold symphony tickets
To those who only wanted
Music that would make them
Fall quickly asleep

And custom-made windows
To homeowners whose houses
Faced desolate landscapes
Of abandoned mills

And magazine subscriptions
To people who needed
Something to line
Their cat boxes with

And alumni yearbooks
To flunked-out students
That lived with their parents
And telemarketed like me
