blind men can't see
you must have blown
love potion
in my face in the form of dust
because i was so blinded
by my love for you
that i couldn't stop before we
started,
and you burned me with the razor's edge
of your fangs;
maybe it's partially my fault
you warned me that you were a monster
i tried to make you a man—
your false sincerity and lies and deceptive charm
made your claim true,
but i thought you were someone worth knowing
simply caught in self-loathing that i could
somehow break
like glass;
and show you that you were worth it—
but blind men cannot see
i should have known
that.
