J.J. Campbell- Two Poems

fading away to oblivion

wishes don't come
true

all the pretty girls
still don't know
you exist

fading away to
oblivion could
always be worse

disease

child support

guilt

be happy your
only baggage is
a few extra pounds

a low standard for utopia

wake up at five
in the morning
and take a piss

figure out a few
minutes later that
most of it ended
up on the floor

the beauty of
apathy is you
have a low
standard for
utopia

you learned many
moons ago that
people are vastly
overrated

but when your
hand gets tired
of the lotion and
playing dress up

you really have
no choice

break out the razor
and get a somewhat
clean towel

shave off the beard
and throw on some
clean clothes

pretend that the
world will be
impressed

  1. JJ Campbell explores what his precursors knew yet he does it a minimally flashing way as part of our culture
    and human nature. Congralations!
