Jennifer Lagier- Poem & Photo

Meditative Meander

Hundreds of dolphins churn offshore,
feed on teeming anchovy shoals.

A floating otter and wet-suited surfer
contemplate the frenzy, give them wide berth.

I meander familiar trails, admire morning’s
mauve horizon, inky rip tides, glistening sand.

Yellow oxalis, pink ice plant surround purple
Pride of Madeira, golden poppies in showy full bloom.

Pagan sea gods manifest a single white egret
as sooty crow confetti explodes overhead.

Jennifer Lagier, a failed snake charmer, can be found wandering along the ocean, coffee mug in hand, misbehaving dogs in tow.
