Ananya S. Guha- A Poem

the roads are silent today
open and yawning
the trees lie curled in amnesia
forgetting all the lights in traffic
the town is welcoming a special guest
and they are headed off to the main grounds
events are not surprises they happen
in silence as well, traffic diversion
school children will still wind ways home
oblivious that the town is festive
in my office room the wart wobbles
nose twitches. In the shades of green the clouds
overshadow feelings.
