Douglas Polk- A Poem

A Random Plea

a people bent on their own destruction,
refuse to face reality,
the money is gone,
our structures crumble,
infrastructure,
both the physical,
and the imagined,
laws and morals,
in the same shape as our roads and bridges,
selfish beyond selfish,
leaders think only of themselves and their party,
constituents,
only dogs to be sicced upon one another,
while leaders manipulate,
a people bent on their own destruction.
