Adina Newman- Two Poems

Veracity

Illuminated fallacy
Driven by dishonesty
Entertained by cogency
Embraced by necessity
Typified reality
Repeated in perpetuity.
Can the truth set you free?

Eclipsed

Strike it down
The blistering pain
The tempest abates
The earths cease to quake

Heave forward a heartwarming hymn
of a furtive prayer
Prostrate yourself
to the memories burned
Emblazoned
by the Sun
and the abysmal pools
of Time.

Short Bio: Adina Newman's poems have appeared in The Camel Saloon, Yes, Poetry, vox poetica, Enchanted Conversation, Eunoia Review, and other print and electronic publications. She lives in Washington D.C. with her husband and (live) snake, Nora.
