Paul Tristram- Three Poems

Love-Drunk

…like Fireworks
across the Midnight Skies
of London’s
Cleveland Square
whilst
Drinking a Triple
Jameson’s Whisky, Neat.
Your Passionate Kisses
Explode
within my
Love-Drunk
Senses
Breathing
Colourful Life
back into
my veins
once again…

Stop Chewing Upon Yesterday’s

You are looking the wrong way around
to get yourself ahead.
Get your mind out from up your own arse
and quickly step away from the past.
Stop chewing upon yesterday’s
that meal was finished long ago.
Put one mental foot in front of the other
it’s time to swagger up a brand new road.

Caressing Like Liquid Velvet

Cwtched up safe and warm
within the furnace of your soul.
No crows dare barren this landscape.
It’s for the armpits and belly’s
of sleeping lion cubs
content after food and play.
A gentle humming
like a distant Navajo chant.
Seatbelt arms and locking ankles.
Two souls twined in gentle rocking.
Petal delicate
and caressing like liquid velvet.
As outside beds boundary
wars, religions, thunder
and the hands of pocket watches
fade.

Paul Tristram is a Welsh writer who has poems, short stories, sketches and photography
published in many publications around the world, he yearns to tattoo porcelain bridesmaids
