Thom Young- Three Poems

Sank

the American
dream
we finally made
it
to the ocean
with a pack
of cigarettes
and
the unknown
because
our hearts sank
like
a stone.

Someday

someday
the guitar
reverb
will play for us
on the goth
trash beaches
as
the models and skeletons
say
everything
but forgive me
and
be in love again.

Again

everybody else
wants to fall in love
but me
so long as the vultures
come
and feast on the
dead
Dick Clark
will play the song
again
and again.

  1. All three poems are very interesting. I liked 'Sank'
I don't like to be pessimistic, but it feels like
a whole country is on the verge.
