Lily Tierney- Three Poems

Abundance

There was an abundance
hidden in the crevices.

At every turn they sort more.
There would never be enough
they died of starvation.

Pockets

The weight was less
than morning scaled.

At night it passed for
the exact amount.

The difference was hidden
in the pockets that never
emptied.

Junction

A train slowly
approaches
the junction.

The tracks all
lead to the
unknown.

Something
happened
they knew for sure.

I know the hammer
never reached the
nail.
