Ramona Thompson- A Poem

Snakes In Jane

She can't help it
It slithers inside
Full of vice and venom
Night fellas
And the flesh takes over
Mindless in its trap
She sells her body
She gives away
Another piece of her soul
Yet never finds
Any peace of mind

On a whole other astral plane
She searches
Seeking to fill
That empty hole inside
Sticks the needle
Into her vein
Curses the world
As she takes just one more drink
Thinking maybe this time
She'll get lucky
And ease just some of the pain tonight

Sad
So sad
The fate the cards dealt her
No longer believes
In a God
Who don't believe in her
Upon a helping hand
A holy word
She turns her back
Vomits poison
In disgust
Thinking why now
Why too late do any of them wanna help her now?
