Joanna M. Weston- A Poem

OPEN DOORS

in my mother’s house
are fourteen rooms
all with open doors
that I might escape
naked and laughing
through storm and sun
walk   run   leap
down the road
over the fence
into knowledge

the way is trodden
my life a run-away cart
with truth available
at the bank
