Jennifer Lagier- A Poem & Photo

Burnished

Impending thunderstorm simmers,
burnishes bronze-streaked lagoon,
cloaks sunrise with fulminating clouds.

Creek beds transmute to sandy trails.
Dry earth glows beneath
diseased fog, blazing skyline.

It’s warm, earthquake weather.
Dust devils spin among dying sage.
Stressed cypress succumb.

Jennifer Lagier is an unabashed snake groupie who loves 'em all, dead or alive.
