J. "Ash" Gamble- Three Poems

Stuck in High School

The old joke was stuck in high
school days, remember the game
and almost getting lucky, watching
his belly grow behind his desk
of glazed mediocrity.

Turncoat

Traitor, traitor, they cried
until he turned his coat inside out
and they saw themselves
in the reflection, so stilled.

Public Recreations

A parked car, some loud music,
and body thumping, all public,
a little bit of love not needing privacy,
under an audience of stars.
