Scott Thomas Outlar- Three Poems

Get Me Out of Here/Now

I long for the days of old
when there was courage like electric fire
swarming through the collective consciousness,
when bravery beat the odds
and rose to the heights of evolution’s ladder.

I long for the days ahead
when there will be courage reborn
in the hearts and minds of Man,
when the urge toward something higher
once again seizes the soul of our species.

Musings on a Joke System

The only thing in this world
lower than a politician
is a voter

The only thing more trashy
than a trashy culture
is a subversive subculture
that tries to out-trash it

The only thing that feeds the Beast
is a poison
from the Dark Side

The only way out of the web
is to end the Fed
judge the judges
and hang the traitors

Proper Portions

Everything I write
should be taken in dead earnest
and also two and one-quarter grains of salt

Scott Thomas Outlar spends the hours flowing and fluxing with the tide of the Tao River while laughing at the existential nature of life. More of his words can be read at 17numa.wordpress.com.
