Pijush Kanti Deb- Three Poems

The Oddness between huts and skyscrapers.

In the oddness between huts and skyscrapers,
let our steps cross the border line-
drawn by our pride and contumacy
and rush towards the ocean of tears
to bring in a change in the odd looking picture.
Maybe,
our haughty hearts may raise their palpitations,
brimful pockets move their heads
to their either sides again and again,
the  domestic planets and the satellites-
luminous in our own brightness
get self-eclipsed and become gloomy,
the bitterness of failure of yesterday
disturbs the steps to fall by a slip
and unknown tomorrow suffers from
the fear of biting by our own blood.
Hence,
let our proceeding steps are to be delinked
from babbling tongues and timid hearts
our mortal eyes and ears be sanctioned a leave,
the line only be crossed with the hint of
the immortal sensation of our souls
and our tears be dropped in the ocean
to tarnish it into a manageable river
which can wash away the oddness
from the picture of huts and skyscrapers.

Experience

Experience-
an invisible piece of diamond,
an addition to the gain
obtained by the running hands
to save it in the inbox of heart
staining it with the scratches
of the sharp claws of time.
Maybe, a few owners of wide foreheads
can embellish their lives
with the blossoms of optimism
finding little nectar out of it
but the hemlock
which is generated throughout the process
feels good to be injected
into our common hearts
and makes us compelled to be pushed
to the dark dimension of pessimism
to live a dead-life
wondering in the hell of confusion and hesitation.

Most Popular Journey

Intentionally or under compulsion
a human body is to be floated up
for a flying journey
the most popular journey in the sky of abundance
caused by an invisible ghost-
sheltered inside the head
banishing the brain down to knee
making the head blank and weightless
and the body light to float in the air
in quest of the land of the fairies and witches
to meet the ever-increasing lunatic hunger.
It may be the sign of abnormality
yet the ears can’t ignore the music
that reverberates in the sky and the air
bewitching the body to get lost after the music.
This is the peculiar but the popular flying journey
exhibited in the open sky of hunger
where all go as they like
as hands start beating their own drums
guarding their own ears
from the invasion of others’ beating,
feet run faster than the mind
to reach ‘’El-dorado’’-the golden dreamland
trampling others’ feet,
heart hides again and again
in the pools of the clouds
and makes itself more mysterious,
but the old soul
looks thoughtful and disturbed
before going for long hibernation
wishing ’’safe flying’’ to the flying body.
