Manny Yon- A Poem

The Little Damages and Remember

You are inherently Sundarbans
canoe rental, flashing stripes.
If it were ever about the
dragging, you'd opine. And
the tracks that remain can't
hear the weakened decry from
the marsh. I didn't notice

what you'd think. It wasn't
the stabbing pressure at
the base of my skull, as
much as it was the scraping
of mangrove roots across
the tops of my feet when we
exited the murk. Wasn't it?
The little damages
                        and remember.

Bio: Manny Yon is a poet from the Southern U.S.
