She can taste his presence

Unwrapped so sweet
like a haunted gift
his scent surrounds;
flickering behind
like his touch,
once felt on her skin—
and his nakedness
like flashing minds
on her back;
still rising
as this forgetful ghost
whose memory spirit
she loves to attract.
So touching, now distant
she unwraps herself
imagining his presence,
during X-mas, sliding
off his favorite stockings;
still thirsting for a taste
from his face, stubble,
cheeks and tongues
from this stranger—
once intimate,
like a drop needs a faucet;
dripping a touching reminder
she loves to reach for—
eyes closed, memorizing
dates and numbers…she
redialing with fingers;
a number eternally remembered
conjuring his name into focus,
blinking much faster,
wanting revisions
during her midnight flashback—
she still lusts for his glasses
but never contacts.
