Ken Allan Dronsfield- Two Poems

Stolen Lives, To Be

In contempt, I am, if only To Be
within a reconcilable calm mind.
Forgive and reign within just piety;
tasteless hatred, justice be damned.
A dangerous heartless killing spree;
empathetic righteousness forgotten,
selfish survive by devouring lives, as
Amazing Grace plays upon an organ.
What attracts one to take another's life?
If Hell be empty, do we walk with demons?
The merciless purveyors of stolen souls;
fire bullets etched with the words, "To Be".
Launched into the air, no lives matter here,
from the innocent schools, to parks or malls
child, mother, stranger, animal or thy father,
devils reign is clear, life's collected everywhere.
The digger of graves grows strong each day,
Charon plies the oars crossing the River Styx,
to the beat of the drums by the chosen ones,
fear the reapers scythe; death calls to you.
So in dreams this night; or whilst travelling
on, keep eyes to the sky always ready "To Be."

Tempest

Amorous sprightly
end to a sunny day,
enveloped with the
twilight's dark cloak
evil creeps into all
from the shadowed
abyss and triumphs
over light with such
ringing delight whilst
a Thunderbird rises.
Oh yes, we do eye
the starry, black sky
while laying about on
warm rocks within a
coolish height where
waves crash below
as the taller redwoods
dance in marshmallow
clouds, a tempest blows.
My dew faeries grin to
a renewed pious doubt
or of tempestuous sin
whilst the sun is out,
a cradled new moon
rises in a pouting grin
coveting all very soon.
