Pijush Kanti Deb- Three Poems

The Natural Guest

Following a secret path of nature
a heaven-touching skyscraper
came in to my bedroom one night
but surprisingly headless,
putting the leaning pillar of Pisa
in the place of its neck,
carrying the Himalayas and the Alps
on its two wide shoulders
setting a set of three nuclear reactors
inside its He-chest
and pocketing all the treasuries and banks-
peeping from its colossal purse
and started shouting at me,
‘’Give me a head for my recognition’’,
making me generously bewitched
to raise my sharp knife
to cut my own head for the natural guest
but it could kill my wonderful dream only.

A Jobless Human Body

A jobless human body-
a collection of humiliated limbs,
quite collocated and dignified before,
starts agitating now against the automation
turning itself in to its singularity
to knock each and every closed doors
of the innovative and dogmatic employers-
employing all the graces of blind science
cursing the poor limbs to be suppressed
under the heavy factories-
producing only static fat,
making the earth too heavy
to sustain its regular rotation and revolution,
remembering the forgotten slogans of revolution
to reverberate the air and the sky again
before it is too late
to use the fatty finger
in clicking the creative bottom of self-destruction.

Spirituality

Spirituality-
maybe an eagerly query
about the weather of a high altitude,
inquired by a dwarf from a colossal;

maybe an answer
comprising of a few drops of water
multiplying the degrees of thirst
of a thirsty of different kind;

maybe a surprise
to a forehead with only two eyes
witnessing a foolish magnet-
attracting a piece of worthless iron
leaving gold and diamond untouched;

maybe a conclusion
of an article
written on a small and turbulent river
immersing its tumultuous youthfulness
plunging into the vastness of a pacific ocean.
