dressed up as natural,
organic,
or
whatever the current terminology was,
proving
Barnum and Mencken right yet again

An adage had it that
there are none so blind as they who will not see,
and the many chemicals leaching
into the water from the plastic bottles
must have caused such blindness

It spread from Earth skyward:
if you were a resident of any body
it was your right,
even your duty,
to have and express opinions
on subjects about which you knew nothing
