Jonathan Beale- A Poem

These Rites

People in their private ceremonies
The outsider sees: weighing the scales
In a division - suspicion dictates
This should know – and is however
The weight of war
The private half – behind the doors to seal
Voices stand out.
And are as monuments in the air –
Awaiting ‘the new order’ –THE NEW ORDER.
To undo their once stone place
Robed paradigms:
Masses stand before plinths
Before the tyrants icon falls.
