Daniel Barbare- Two Poems

My Father

All
That
Was
Known
Of
World
War
II

Was
A
Dark
And
Cold
Kitchen
Window

Reflecting
Alcoholism

And
A
Man
Who
Overcame
It.

He
Saw
The
Rising
Sun.

 A Home

When
The
Wind
Is
Cold

And
The
Trees
Are
All
Alone

And
A
Hunger
Is
In
The
Air

A
Warm
Home
And
Food

Are
Always
A
Gift.
