Ramona Thompson- A Poem

The World Is Full of Living Snakes

Cunning and sly
Dangerous all around
Poison all over
Bitterness spilling
From every pore
Men, women and even children
All come with the monster attached
Just waiting to spring forth
The dead ones hold no fear
It is the living of whom we should beware
Every minute
Every second
Watching us
From so very near

Closer than we think
They're coming for us
In all shapes, sizes and colors
Beasts of the wild
Never tamed
Don't wanna be
Their dna was never built that way
They live only
To inflict the cruelest of pains
Behind the sweetest smile
All too often nowadays
You'll find
Their venomous ways

Deep in the empty hearts of these terrorists
There lurks nothing
No emotion
No feeling
Only emptiness
A void
Where human emotions should be
Not made by God
Not made even by Satan himself
But something worse
Far, far worse

Our nightmare is here
We're dying
While we're living
We just don't know it yet
Don't see or feel it yet
In the messages all around us
Their eyes glow
Their lips whisper
Beware not those already dead
Fear not the zombies
Who are only fiction
Fear the reality
The world is full of living snakes
And their time to rule over us all...
It's almost here
God help us
