Ali Znaidi- A Poem

Protrusion

Grapevines protrude
their leaves.
Giraffes protrude
their necks,
& snakes protrude
their tongues,
& the sun & the moon protrude
their lights.
“Protrude
protrude
protrude:”
What a beautiful verb!
