Whatever you do
 

Gotta fight it
With all you got
Cause it just ain't worth it
The loss of everything and everyone
You hold so dear
Crying out in horror
As you fall back down
Into that bottomless pit of addiction

It's a demon
With a mighty strong grip on you
Just won't let go
No matter how hard you try
It hangs on
The ultimate monkey
On your back
Laughing
Relishing your every moment of
Darkest despair

It's cold and it's brutal
A monster
Always ready to feed
Lust out of control
Give it just one chance
And it will devour
Your very soul whole
Before it slowly moves on
Poison dripping
On a downward spiral
To the next victim
Someone you love

The translation of these words is simple
Fight or die
Smoke
Drink
Shoot up
Mindless hook up
Think before you do it
How much of your life is worth
Letting the dead snake swallow you
Back down again
Into addiction's hell
