ROOM
A ringing phone
knock on the door
neither was answered.
Sleeping, his dreams
never traveled far
enough to be
with me.
He'll wake up, and
see the room he is in.

VANISHED
Daylight streaming
through a broken window.
through a broken window.
Dreams in the night
flowing in her subconscious.
At the break in dawn
all vanished.
If only, she would fix that window.

BRANCHES
I kept watching as
the squirrel jumped
from the branches.
A Cardinal flew awaythe squirrel jumped
from the branches.
the squirrel was
getting too close.
I stood and watched
this time I wasn't
running away.
These poems seem to reflect how we get lost in reverie only to awake to reality. You ask, If life is simply dream then why are our dreams not real? I like the jagged structure, the overall feel of the syntax, and the brief lines that impose a sense of wonder and emptiness. Great work, Lily.
