Michael Cluff- A Poem

Comparable Hues

As the plaything
to others' whims
and shifting schedules,
Candy resisted the feel
of retribution
oozing up into her fingers
as the way to equalize reality.
When Bernie wants a simple signature,
her thumb and other digits
acted on their own
his neck is now the same
tint to his expensive necktie
of the deepest bisque red
his wife Penny could find
on that Black Friday
just a year or so
ago.
