Michael Cluff- A Poem

Smash Out

Pleading with pylons
to release the rope
many criminals fail
recognizing tape for tapioca
is a free pass into
an eternity they have little
in making.

The sharks spark off
amplifiers in culverts
designed for bathspheres only
and conjunctions
are not passive anymore.

Candy is not the solvent
an errant dabbler
can use to trip up
trombones and trousseaus
that fell into the Bay of Biscany
last September.

Putty locks and lapels shut
grasshoppers look steady
at window cracks
juries crawling
to just get in.
