Denny E. Marshall- Two Poems

Thin Edge And Fine Point

Born like a razor
Now used and dull
I will never reach the age
Where I’ll feel disposable

I can still make incisions
Not direct on the court
Do not put me into the safe container
Like so many preceding

The erosion of life
Is worth the lost sharpness
Experience and knowledge
Can give you the edge

Sound Bite

I want politicians
All there are re–electionist
I like to see TV journalist
On a national level
Not media pop stars
Report the facts
Not editorials
Remember that old dinosaur
Called the news
There are no answers
The tossed coins never come down
Only in the "Beltway"
Everywhere else in this country
In our lives
It’s either heads or tails
