Michael Cluff- A Poem

Brad Mizzeltoff

Too ham-handed
to dwell amongst
the sagebrush arroyos
never learned tying
a Windsor knot
or hangman's noose
in proper sequence,
he greeted flowers
in late afternoons
with calm irrigation
from his innards
and the rose
only innocence has
in storm-driven Indianola.
