BIPOLARITY
Night hangs down
Like a black curtain
In a dead theater
While the wind whispers
An ancient melody
In a lost language
All else seems as silent
As an aging chanteuse
In a rundown cabaret
Unsure if she’ll croon
A melancholy ballad
Or an uplifting anthem
Then I hear voices
From somewhere near
Piercing the darkness
But not close enough
To tell if they are
Screaming or singing
