Richard Schnap- A Poem

DEFACING MIRRORS

He started as a child
Tracing the contours of his reflection
In the grade school bathroom

Then again as a teenager
Outlining the features
Of the most popular boy on campus

And as he grew older
His portraits took the form
Of men whose fortune he envied

Until one day he stopped
After completing his finale
A glass painted totally black
