Tamara Turner- Poem & Picture

Tamara has a blue & gold macaw and a sweet kitty that share a unique bond.

Contemporary Morphosis

When she came to me
In the night
I brushed her away
As another of my dreams
A beautiful and horrid
Deformed
Solicitation
I never accept nightmare
Invitations
She crept
Flattening herself
Through a crack in the
Open third story window
Caressing me like a lover
Brushing quilled fur
Strange to my touch
Alarming
Eyes gleaming in darkness
Misshapen and twisted
Huntress stalked
Still black night
Unwieldy creature
Graceless
Though obviously
Mine
Allowing not apprehension
From her human
Acceptance my sole
Option
While she pushed in close
Crying out to me
Forcefully for affection
With hideous tones
Previously unheard
Sounding unlike feline
Or bird
I understood with
Nerves still wracking
What she must be
How
Matters not
Now
Rather than eat
Each other up
It seemed the parrot
And cat had
Instead
Arrived at an agreement
Reconfigurement
