Denny E. Marshall- Three Poems

Shoulders Of An Angel

From a white light, that sings
Out walks an angel
Now there are wings
On the way you feel

Candles open and fill
On windows burning
Cups of memories spill
Somehow returning

The Angel’s Hand

I felt the slight touch of the angel’s hand
While lonely and lost in a pitch-black night
Adrift in the dark with no guiding light
Then wings beat like heartbeats across the land

Life is a windstorm blowing in the sand
It can be hard to walk or even stand
Answers can be barren, not always right
While lonely and lost in a pitch-black night

The journey can seem hard to understand
Mystify the signals hidden from sight
Echoes of power without showing might
Steer towards a light making no demands
I felt the slight touch of the angel’s hand

Contact Of An Angel’s Hand

Felt the slight contact of an angel’s hand
While lost and alone in a pitch-black night
Life is a windstorm blowing in the sand

Trail can be hard to walk or even stand
When lost in the dark with no guiding light
Felt the slight contact of an angel’s hand

Sometimes the signs are hard to understand
With most of the answers hidden from sight
Life is a windstorm blowing in the sand

This mysterious globe is an island.
When the stars winked in response to this plight
Felt the slight contact of an angel’s hand

Blowing fields of grass cannot see one strand
The great herds can block the message from sight
Life is a windstorm blowing in the sand

As beacons throb from high above the land
The secret pathways are hidden from sight
Felt the slight contact of an angel’s hand
Life is a windstorm blowing in the sand
