Lottery tickets
Hoping to win
The jackpot
And the trash men wish
Some unknown aunt
Will die and leave them
A fortune
And waitresses sit
In bars to see
The outcome of the game
They bet on
While I watch a flock
Of hungry sparrows
Fight over crumbs
Of bread
