Denny E. Marshall- Three Poems

Oh The…

Oh the boredom
The screaming boredom of life
The absence of fully living
Like being trapped in a cold cell
Existing nowhere endlessly
Or have I lived in hell

Oh the silence
The dead silence of space
Slight presence of so hidden few
Like standing in a blowing wind
You can always feel it
Though is it really there

Oh the darkness
The flaming darkness of the day
The presence of ghostly fear
Hanging days of the past
Still striking no shadow
When will the shadow be cast?

Oh the time
Time flying by so fast
The absence of today
Like walking in a infinite maze
Going nowhere endlessly
Will I find the exit anyway?

Thunderstorms

Lightning floating in the sky
Do you hear its mighty cries?
Jagged pattern
Neon flight
Forever changing
Pictures in the night
Thunder commanding a useless fear
A giant walks in the sky
Do you hear him?
Walk on by
Falling in from the sky
A million splatters on the panes
Creates a waterfall
From a drain
A cool wisp upon your face
A sweet smell
A small lake on a sidewalk
Almost a memory
Without a trace
A flower shoots to the sun
Nature is on the run
Neon fingers
And giant footsteps
Will echo again

Shines Gold

I look at her like she is art
Though what’s inside her mind and heart
For within is she warm or cold
Shines her hair and body gold

She is quiet very seldom talks
I hear a whisper when she walks
Seems like she would be hard to hold
Shines her hair and body gold

She has talent, can use her head
More fuel for thoughts on which dreams fed
Not quite sure why, on her I’m sold
Shines her hair and body gold
