Robert Demaree- Three Poems

Late 2014: Senryu Diary

Early winter rain:
College cafeteria,
Scent of chicken soup.

Would that we might have
A way to erase the past:
Control alt delete.

Passing auto fads:
Christmas wreaths on the front end,
Baby on Board signs.

Ribs ache from coughing,
Not flu but something like it.
December 30.

Very Long Novel

800-page book
Gains steam as it goes along:
I have made good friends.

Commercial Real Estate

Half-empty strip mall,
Outparcels available:
But the Dow is up.

Small, off-brand churches
Keep our struggling strip malls
From going under.
