Paul DeVito- A Poem

Night Flight

Flying high at night
through the trees,
she spreads her wings
with the majesty of a condor,
she is free to fly where she will,
our garden bathes in the moonlight,
I see her like a shadow
gliding through the evening breeze,
she likes the night,
her flight is freer
turned away from the droll patterns
of the day, her song
deeper and lighter at the same time,
in the middle of the night
she discovers herself,
can find a bit of laughter
in the shades of fine light,
she feels life will be longer
if she flies at night.
