Ali Znaidi- A Poem

Unfinished Hallucinations

(a)

A bottle of water, proximity.
Thirsty, soil. Twilight debris.
Mountain, shivered.
Light earthquake shook emotions.
Water spilled,
and the night searched for me.
Snapshots=darkness.
These drops of water are a mirage.

(b)

Lamb laundry.
Blueprint for culinary love
& delight.
The oven takes care of everything.
Munch slowly. Otherwise, choking—
battered throat. I would like to meet
the angel of the night.

(c)

Human or humane?
”e” is not the problem.
Deviant thought or standard
thought? That is the question.
The “e” haunted me again
with the apparition of satan.

(d)

Trees, savours of green sap.
Blood drunken & intoxicated,
as if diluted with whisky.
The colour green is the panacea.
Spackles the trauma of the psyche.
Gorgeous fingernails painted green.

(e)

A tiny tiny lake over
a sandy tomb.
Ointment for the decayed body.
Some Bukowski’s ants drowned.
Drunken birds. Ants’ water tastes
like whisky.
Ants carving a timeless epitaph.
